The coast and countryside of Dorset has changed little since the times of Thomas Hardy, with scores of pretty villages, traditional pubs and miles and miles of breathtaking coastal scenery. The unique and dramatic Jurassic coastline is so special it has been honoured with natural World Heritage status, with UNESCO describing the site as "an outstanding example, representing a major stage of the earth's history and the record of life.
